Callisto is innovating the fight against serial sexual assault.

Every 68 seconds, someone in the United States is sexually assaulted. But what many people don’t realize is that the majority of these assaults are committed by repeat offenders. Serial sexual assault is a hidden crisis. One that persists not because people aren’t speaking up, but because systems aren’t equipped to connect the dots.

At Callisto, we’re changing that.

What Is Serial Sexual Assault?

Serial sexual assault describes a pattern where multiple sexual assaults are committed by the same person. Research suggests that the vast majority of sexual assaults are committed by serial perpetrators who, in college settings, offend an average of 6 times before they graduate. These offenders rely on silence, shame, and disconnected systems to continue perpetrating harm, while avoiding detection and accountability.

Why Serial Sexual Assault Persists

Trauma Fuels Confusion & Self-Blame
It is common for survivors to question if what happened “counted” as sexual assault or believe that they were to blame. Unfortunately, these messages are often reinforced when survivors witness how those who come forward are treated. This can intensify their shame, isolation, and silence.

Reporting Rarely Results in Accountability
Many are quick to pressure survivors to report. However, the vast majority of reported assaults do NOT even lead to an arrest. When coming forward is more likely to lead to retraumatization than accountability, it’s understandable that so many survivors are reluctant to report.

Few Systems Detect Patterns
Few colleges, workplaces, or even police departments have the tools to connect individual reports — especially when perpetrators transfer schools, move, or commit violations not seen as ‘serious enough.’ When institutions fail to recognize patterns (or act when they do) offenders remain free to continue harming others.

How Callisto Helps Break the Cycle

At Callisto, we believe that empowering and connecting survivors not only promotes healing, but increases the likelihood that perpetrators will be identified and held accountable. And we believe that more survivors would come forward if it was safer to do so. That’s why we built Callisto Vault — a secure platform that puts power back into survivors’ hands. Our innovative technology enables survivors to securely document an assault, connect with others harmed by the same perpetrator, and explore their options…in their own time and on their own terms.

Here’s how it works:

Incident Log
The Incident Log enables survivors to create a timestamped, encrypted record that belongs solely to them. This can help them organize and process traumatic memories, recognize that what happened was, in fact, sexual assault, and serve as a reference should they choose to report.

Matching System
The Matching System empowers survivors and detects serial perpetrators. When 2 or more survivors enter the same offender, our encrypted system registers a match. Matched survivors are then contacted by a confidential advocate who can help them explore their options. For some, just knowing knowing they’re not alone can validate their experience and promote healing. For others, discovering that their assault was part of a pattern (and not ‘just a misunderstanding’) can motivate them to come forward — alone or together.

Control was taken. We give it back.

During a sexual assault, perpetrators rob survivors of their choice and control. Unfortunately, many of our current systems replicate this type of harm. But Callisto Vault gives survivors full control over what happens next. They can choose to report, seek support, or remain anonymous. It's designed for safety, empowerment, and justice — on their own terms.

Real Impact, Real Change

Callisto’s innovative platform has already helped connect survivors, reveal serial offenders, and empower people to come forward who never thought they could. By bridging the gaps left by traditional systems, we’re helping end serial sexual assault — one match at a time.
